Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 (coded as CT.40) is a section of the belt road in the Vietnam expressway system and was approved by the Prime Minister in 2011 and adjusted in 2013. The project is managed by the Ministry of Transport; the project implementation unit is the Cuu Long Corporation for Investment, Development and Management of Transport Infrastructure Projects. The route is 92 km long, of which the section through Ho Chi Minh City is 47.4 km long, the section through Long An is 6.8 km long, the section through Binh Duong is 26.6 km long and the section through Dong Nai is 11.2 km long.
This expressway was planned from 2015 to 2021 with the old code CT.22.
Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 starts at Km 38 + 500 of Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway (Nhon Trach area), the route goes north, crosses Dong Nai River at Nhon Trach Bridge through Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City), intersects Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway (at about Km 8 + 772), intersects National Highway 1 (Hanoi Highway) in Tan Van area, the route coincides with My Phuoc – Tan Van road, reaches Binh Chuan, the route turns left to intersect National Highway 13 (at about Km 14 + 200 – National Highway 13 route) in Thu Dau Mot city, crosses Saigon River (Binh Goi Bridge is about 500 m downstream from the existing Ba Lua port), intersects National Highway 22 in Hoc Mon district (Tan Hiep Industrial Park) at Km 8 + 800 along National Highway 22 route, parallel to An Ha canal, through the area My Yen – Tan Buu ends at the intersection with Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong Expressway and Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway.
