Long Thanh International Airport Official name: Long Thanh International Airport, is an international airport under construction in Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province, about 40 km east of Ho Chi Minh City. With a capacity of up to 100 million passengers/year when all 3 phases are completed, this will be the largest airport in Vietnam in the future.
On November 11, 2020, the Prime Minister of Vietnam signed Decision No. 1777/QD-TTg approving the Investment Project for the construction of Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1 (a terminal with a capacity of 25 million passengers/year, a runway of 4000 m x 75 m, an air traffic control tower about 123 m high, and other related works), expected to deploy design work and complete construction in the period 2020–2025.
On January 5, 2021, the Long Thanh airport project officially started construction of phase 1 with the participation of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Transport and relevant departments.[3] Phase 1 of this project is expected to be inaugurated in 2026.
